Prez Sez, December 2018

(Acting) PREZ SEZ DECEMBER 2018 Hershey Area Art Association Holiday Party Members Plus 1

Important information:

**Did you know that HAAA has not raised membership rates for over 19 years?! We think they have always been $20 a year, but the limited records from our initiation in 1995 could not verify if that was the original membership fee. But I’ll bet there are a few members who know! Would love to hear from you. Read the details at and attend the January meeting to learn more. Membership fees, sales commissions and show hanging fees will increase in the new year. The rates will be:

Individual membership will be $25 increasing to $30 in 2020.
Sales commissions at HAAA sponsored shows will increase to 20%
Hanging fees at HAAA sponsored shows will be $5 for 1-3 pieces and $10 for 4-6 pieces

**The January meeting is not only Masterpiece Night, but also the presentation of the 2018 annual report of the Association to the membership and voting for new board members. The Annual Report details our accomplishments, financial status and future goals.

**The Hershey Derry Township Historical Society has launched their Capital Campaign to complete the landscaping project in the rear of the building. We benefit enormously from the generosity of HDTHS and have agreed to make a donation to this project. Through a gift from the Association and generous donations, we will be providing $250 for a corporate recognition brick.

*Check out the new HAAA classes on our website and consider giving an art class as a gift, in addition to a hug, of course.

**We continue our search for volunteers to assist us to carry out the mission of HAAA. Please consider one of the following openings:

- Program Committee - Locate speakers for general meetings
- Public Relations Committee - Handle advertising classes and events
- Reporter At Large (willing to attend shows and events and take photos) - Assist with planning for HAAA 25th anniversary celebration

**If you’re looking for some interesting reading, try the final draft of the recommended Bylaws on the website under the News menu. If you have questions/comments, contact me or a member of the board.

**Watch the website for new venue opportunities such as the Back Stage Cafe in Allen Theatre also begin preparing for the Spring member show at the Hershey Library. The theme this year is Sunday/Sun Day/Sundae. Keep checking the website under the headings Classes and Events for the current and upcoming activities.

Merry Everything and Happy Always!!!!
