Bring a little bit of the 1970s back to life!
In this hands-on stoneware class, you’ll learn how to create your own one-of-a-kind ceramic wall pocket from scratch.
Inspired by the earthy, organic pottery designs that were so popular in the 1970s, these sculptural wall pieces combine texture, movement, and rustic character in a form that looks just as at home in a modern space as it does in a retro one.
You’ll be guided step-by-step through building the wall pocket, shaping and texturing the clay and creating the distinctive organic surface that gives each piece its individual personality.
There will be organic material provided to press into the soft clay for delightful textures. You’ll be able to add the color to those details that will really make all those organic textures pop.
The finished piece can be hung as a decorative wall sculpture, or used as a unique pocket for dried flowers, grasses, or other small treasures.
No two will ever be alike! That’s part of the charm of this wonderfully nostalgic design.
Come play with clay, texture, and a little 1970s nostalgia—and go home with a handmade piece of functional ceramic art that you created yourself.
