Presentation - Pastels and Finding Your Voice Marie Gamon

A couple goes to an art gallery. They find a picture of a naked women with only her privates covered with leaves. The wife doesn't like it and moves on but the husband keeps looking. The wife asks: "What are you waiting for?" The husband replies: "Autumn."

**VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION

**UNDER THE COLORS - October 19-20 — Register now for this annual member event! Held in the Community Room at the Historical Society; and, weather permitting, the new beautiful outdoor gazebo! There will be room for hanging art and visual art. Set up for the show is Friday 10/18 at 3PM and you will need to provide sales desk coverage for a few hours during the show. **MEMBER DUES - If you’ve been paying attention you know that 2020 is our 25th Anniversary. Although the Board of Directors agreed to a membership increase to $30 in 2020, it was recently decided to maintain the current $25 per year membership dues in light of the 25th anniversary year. An increase will be considered for 2021. Your Board of Directors just saved you five bucks - Thank them!

**NEW VICE PRESIDENT - The Board of Directors approved the “promotion” of Nick Elsener to the position of vice president! Yeah!! A big thank you to Nick. His wife, Donna says she appreciates his involvement with HAAA because it keeps him off the streets!

**GENERAL INFORMATION

**Hershey Soup Cook Off on Saturday Oct. 5, 11AM to 2PM — The Hershey Partnership sponsors this annual event to raise funds for the Hershey FIre Company. Our member, Marie Gamon, won the soup competition at our May meeting. Several members will be preparing her recipe, Stuffed Pepper Soup, and providing samples to the attendees. Join the hundreds of people who come to taste the delicious soups and support our member chefs!! Event is held in the Hershey FIre Company.

**2020 HAAA ANNIVERSARY - Photo submissions from 22 artists have gone to our three judges. The committee plans to have the calendars available for purchase during the Under the Colors show. Funds collected from the sale of the calendars go toward our annual Scholarship Fund.

**HERSHEY STORY MUSEUM SEPT. 5-8 - Sorry if you missed this one!! 16 Artists displayed their work in the lobby of the Hershey Story Museum. Collected commissions - $157.

**PRESENTATION by DANIEL MASSAD at LEBANON VALLEY COLLEGE on September 8 - Really sorry if you missed this! An inspiring artist presentation and gallery show.

**COCOA BEANERY We have two ongoing events at the Cocoa Beanery:

Restaurant Art Rotation- Register online hersheyart.org if your interested in displaying your work for the next rotation on October 7, 2019.

**ALLEN THEATRE BACKSTAGE CAFE - This venue has invited us to continue our monthly exhibits to the end of the year. Register on the website, hersheyart.org to participate in monthly rotations from October 1 to December 31. For more details contact Mary Lott at haaatreasurer2018@gmail.com.

**HERSHEY LIBRARY ROTATION. Register to exhibit your work in the Hallway Gallery for the next art rotation on Oct. 12, at 9:30AM. Registration and description under the EVENTS tab on the website, hersheyart.org. For more details contact Marie Gamon at gamfam1@verizon.net.
