This 4-week acrylic painting class guides students through the complete process of creating a landscape painting—from initial sketch to final details. Designed for artists looking to sharpen their skills. Learn how to building composition, understand color, and acrylic techniques.
Each week, artist will explore a different stage of this creative process.
Week One
Starting with basic sketching and composition planning. Learn how to simplify complex scenes and create a stronger visual foundation. It is encouraged for students to bring landscape references that inspire them, to help build their desired landscape.
Week Two
The course then moves into color mixing, underpainting, and layering techniques. During week two we will focus on painting the base layers to have a good foundation for your painting.
Week Three
Let's paint paint paint! On week three you will be able to just work on building those layers to get your painting ready for those final details. One on one help will be provided along with time to yourself so you can learn and experiment at your comfort level.
Week Four
By the final week, students will refine their work with texture, depth, and finishing details, resulting in a completed landscape painting.
This is not a step by step guided class but rather an opportunity to learn techniques and then apply them to your own painting. The instructor is there to guide you and help you design and understand your desired landscape.
By the end of the course, students will have a completed landscape painting and a clearer understanding of how to approach future paintings from start to finish. All skill levels are welcome, though having some artistic experiences is encouraged. Remember each student is encouraged to bring landscape pictures to have visuals for better understanding of the process. I look forward to painting with you!
